Having received a unanimous recommendation from the Search Committee, the Elders are pleased to present a candidate for the senior pastor position at Southern Gables Church. Candidating Sunday, August 1

• 9:00 & 10:30 am ~ Preaching  Pastor Jeff Daley will be preaching in both morning worship services.
• 11:45 am ~ Welcome Reception  Please join us in the Welcome Center following the second service for light refreshments and a chance to meet Pastor Jeff.
• 5:00 pm ~ Questions & Answers  Questions for our time together need to be submitted in writing to Julia Grauberger (jgrauberger@sgc.org) or delivered to the church office no later than July 30, 2010. (Partners only). There will be time at the end of the meeting for additional questions.
• 7:00 pm ~ Congregational Business Meeting  The Q & A time and the Business Meeting are open to everyone. Per the Bylaws, only Partners are eligible to vote.

Fruit of the Spirit ~ Summer Sermon & Study Series

This Summer, we have embarked on a nine-week spiritual journey through two brief verses, Galatians 5:22-23, known as the Fruit of the Spirit. The "Fruit" is not a collection of virtuous attributes that we ambitiously strive to attain through resolve and self-effort. The Fruit is the outward manifestation of internal change that is progressively transforming us into the image of Jesus Christ. In addition to the sermon series, we are preparing weekly support materials for personal, mentoring/spiritually intentional relationships, and/or small group application. More information.

Annual Church Picnic, Sunday, August 15

Mark your calendar now for great fun, fellowship and food! SGC will provide the hamburgers, brats, buns, condiments, table service, beverages and ice cream sandwiches. There will be inflatable slides and jumping castles for the kids. Each family is asked to bring two side dishes to share. PLEASE NOTE: It would be helpful if you could bring your food in disposable serving dishes; otherwise, please clearly label your dishes with your name. Thank you.
